Summer Camps 2024

–REGISTER NOW

Our summer camps offer small class sizes, with two experienced teachers and 1-3 additional assistants per camp. All materials are included in the registration fee.

Mini-Camps:
Our Mini-Camp offerings at CACP vary week to week this summer, featuring activities and art projects curated by our teaching artists. Although our themed activities will change from week to week, we value the importance of a structured environment for our campers. Our daily schedule will be as follows every week. Most days we will be outdoors all morning. When the weather is poor or we have a special project, we will use our indoor space.

Mini-Camp Daily Schedule:
– 9am: drop off at the picnic table
– 9-9:40am: art and free play stations
– 9:40-10am: circle time meeting
– 10-10:30ish: wash hands and snack
– 10:30-11:15am: daily projects and activities
– 11:15-noon: art and free play stations with sprinkler or kiddie pools
– noon: pickup at the picnic table

Artful Afternoons:
This summer in Artful Afternoons, we will explore our creative side! Inspired by the world around us, we will create art, work together, find new skills, and make friends along the way! Afternoon camps will take place primarily indoors with outside breaks and activities each day. Our daily schedule will be as follows every week.

Artful Afternoons Daily Schedule:
– 1:00-1:20: Drop-off inside, simple activity like free draw
– 1:25: Camp Meeting: Go over the theme and plan for the day
– 1:35: Begin main activity
– 2:00: Snack/outside time
– 2:40: Finish main activity
– 3:20: Time for finishing previous days’ projects if needed
– 3:35: Clean up, get stuff together for dismissal time
– 3:50: Free draw/activity
– 4:00: Pick-up at picnic table

CIT Program:
This year, CACP is accepting two Counselors In Training for each of our mini-camp weeks. CITs will have light, supervised, and supported responsibilities interacting with our young campers, and have some special projects to support what the campers are doing each week. (Think: mixing playdough, prepping art supplies, setting up scavenger hunts, or “blazing” trails.) They will also have time to be creative independently and have some fun with the week’s theme. Please have your Counselor In Training fill out the questionnaire (link below) to “apply”. CIT applicants must have completed 7th, 8th or 9th grade by this summer.

Counselors in Training will be charged $75 for the mini-camp CIT program, and have the option to stay for the afternoon as a “camper” with half-price registration pending space availability. Half-price afternoon camp registration is only applicable for the same weeks that they are CIT-ing.
